Troy, NY July 30, 2020 – Rough Road, the record album by Tree Fox is back! Tree Fox was one of the Albany areas most popular rock bands in the 1970s. Now the band is back with the re-release of their Rough Road album. Originally released on Fraternity Records in 1979, the album contains ten songs written by lead singer Larry Quinn. Tree Fox’s music is a blend of Southern and country rock, a popular genre in the 1970s.
“I was encouraged by friends who think that Rough Road can still be relevant today. The album has been digitally re-mastered to bring the sound up to date. I believe there is a potential new audience of Tree Fox fans to be discovered and the fans from back in the day will really enjoy the upgraded sound of the album,” said Larry Quinn.
Two songs on the Rough Road album, 15/20 and Wanderin’ Man, were released as a single 45 RPM record in 1979, nationwide by Fraternity Records. Larry Quinn produced the original album and the re-release. The album promotion was Larry Quinn’s venture. “I distributed the album locally to record stores and distributors. We set up a tour of New England and our agent in Massachusetts placed records in stores with proximity to the clubs where we were playing,” Quinn said.
Quinn released the album on his record label, Third Son Records and distributed it globally to online sites such as ITunes. He also sent cds to radio stations in the United States. The band was comprised of Larry Quinn-lead vocals, acoustic guitar, songwriter, producer, Rich Ertelt-lead guitar, Bruce O’Keefe-drums, Eliot Collins-bass and Leo Muzzy-piano, organ, guitar, harmony vocals.
